The Home Tree is real

In southern Nicaragua, beneath the canopy of an enormous Guanacaste tree (the Home Tree), Lucy built her home and an off-grid farm.

Over time, this tree became more than a landmark. It became a place to return to, to write beneath, to seek refuge, to listen and find wild peace.

Meet Lucy

Lucy Lowes Paget is a writer, speaker and retreat host whose work explores belonging, creativity and our relationship with the living world.

After years working as an osteopath and movement teacher, Lucy followed a long-standing pull toward a different kind of life. She moved from Canada to Nicaragua, where she created Apothefinca, an off-grid organic farm and writing retreat where the canopy of a great Guanacaste tree shelters those who come to it.

That tree became the inspiration for The Home Tree.

Lucy now divides her time between writing, speaking and welcoming people to Apothefinca to rest, create and write beneath the Home Tree.
