The Movement Medicine Method
I believe every woman should be abundantly herself. To be, and become that is a process of unfolding and loving every petal that wraps around your centre. Lets replace the onion peeling analogy with something more feminine - A rose, or a peony.
The unfolding looks like this (and this is the journey we take in movement medicine - the method so to speak):
1. Self awareness: As we start to practice movement we return to sensation. What is your body longing for? Listen and feel as you move.
2. Self compassion: We might not adore every part of ourselves so we need the medicine of compassion to allow all of who we are to be, and to begin the process of re-patterning the rigid, adapted parts of ourselves we've used to live in our worlds.
3. Self acceptance: I've found the more I accept myself the stronger I feel. Maybe you hide aspects of yourself that feel less acceptable. But what if you are entirely acceptable?
4. Strength: And so strength arises because when we are not ashamed of ourselves; when we accept ourselves we are not using energy to hold back or avoid AND there is a natural release of tension by simply allowing and loving yourself. The physical and emotional strength you have wished for is available.
You just need to take out the blockages in your river of energy (& this might as well as self love and acceptance be helped by eating and sleeping well and getting your exercise routine on point).
5. Expression: Here in lies abundant joy. The uplifting dance of the firebird. The ground stomping light giving ancient source energy of the Earth Light. The flow and leap of silver fish with her access to abundant healing. The protection of tigress with all her power and fierceness.
