OSTEOPATHIC THERAPY
Through hands on, Osteopathic and Craniosacral therapy, I can help you resolve chronic injuries, tightness and restriction - often I uncover old tension patterns you didn’t even know you had - and help relieve them.
Hands on Healing is important work. We all need it.
The treatments I give are gentle. You may have heard of Osteopathy and/or Craniosacral therapy. It’s how I practice. Check out the videos on this page to learn more about how I can help you.
What happens in a session?
I put my hands gently on the places that need attention and I feel the strains and restrictions and I help the body release and unravel tension patterns, injuries & trauma.
How long is a session?
Approximately an hour - possibly more, possibly less - it depends on your body. Having done this work for a long time I know it usually takes about 45 - 60 minutes for us to get the change we need. There’s a 3 step process that needs to happen in a healing session which I describe in the video.
What does it feel like?
It feels so good! Like waves moving through the body - like I’m probing and releasing places inside you. That may sound a bit weird if you haven’t had this kind of work before but it’s what my clients tell me over and over.
I don’t apply deep pressure and I don’t use high velocity thrusts (the clicks and cracks of chiropractic). I learnt how to do that kind of work but I’ve always preferred the gentler style of treating.
I put my hands on gently and I feel deeply.
You’ll find yourself relaxing no matter how tight you are - it might be surprising how easily you relax. I steer the nervous system to get balanced and then I find the old tension patterns. You may discover as I’m doing the work how one area of your body pulls towards another, or feels twisted or restricted. You may notice things you might not have been aware of. Sometimes it takes a few sessions for you to feel what I’m feeling - Each session you tend to feel more and the feeling is soothing and comforting and restorative.
What kinds of issues can this help with?
If you are struggling with an injury, head aches or digestive issues I can likely help you. The work I do is gentle, restorative and energizing and incredible at unweaving old tension patterns that you may not even know you had! I love working with old patterns in the body that lead us to feel tight or cause injuries. I also love to work with newer injuries to help release strains before they get embedded in the body. I also love to work on TMJ, sinus, and head related issues like head aches and concussion.
